"It is not half so important to know as to feel..."

"...it is not half so important to know as to feel." - Rachel Carson, The Sense of Wonder

If you can, pick up a copy of this book by Rachel Carson, which is a photographic chronicle of time she spent with her young nephew, fostering curiosity and wonder. It was published posthumously. I've had a copy since my children were little. I appreciate its simplicity and beauty, and clear messages about nature, time, and awe. We are in a time of constant technology. A book like this slows you down, helps you re-see the familiar and if you're lucky, helps you see what you haven't seen before. May you feel what surrounds you, and find your sense of wonder in the special conversation nature offers.
